
Centre for Language and Brain Begins Cooperation with Academy of Sciences of Sakha Republic
HSE University's Centre for Language and Brain and the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) have signed a partnership agreement, opening up new opportunities for research on the region's understudied languages and bilingualism. Thanks to modern methods, such as eye tracking and neuroimaging, scientists will be able to answer questions about how bilingualism works at the brain level.

HSE to Launch Master’s Programme in Digital Engineering and Video Game Development
The HSE Tikhonov Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics (HSE MIEM) is introducing a new online master’s programme: ‘Digital Engineering for Computer Games.’ This educational initiative aims to train specialists in video game creation, interactive applications, and simulation software. Students will explore game development technologies, game engines, artificial intelligence, advanced programming methods, and the design of complex systems.

League of Robot Runners: HSE Team Wins International Competition
A team of students from the HSE Faculty of Computer Science, led by Anton Andreychuk, a researcher from the AIRI Institute, won first place in all categories of the international League of Robot Runners competition. School of International Cooperation Launches at HSE University
The School of International Cooperation has been established within the HSE Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs (WEIA). ‘Boundless Love for the East’: What Changes to Expect at Master’s Programme in Asian and MENA Studies
Starting from the new academic year, significant changes are expected in the Master’s programme ‘Socio-Economic and Political Development of Modern Asia,’ now renamed ‘Modern Asian and MENA Studies.’ Originally the first master’s programme in Russia offered fully in English, the programme has been run for 12 years by HSE University’s Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs.

People Who Create Something New: Over 4,000 High School Students Take Part in PROD
The final stage of the first Russian Olympiad on Industrial Development, PROD, hosted by the Central University, T-Bank, and HSE University, has concluded in Moscow. More than 4,000 students from Russia and 22 other countries, including the UK, Germany, France, Canada, China, Belarus, and Peru, took part.

First 30 Expeditions of 4th Season of ‘Rediscovering Russia’ Project Selected
The selection process for the inter-university student expedition programme ‘Rediscovering Russia’ has concluded. The programme is implemented by HSE University in collaboration with the presidential platform ‘Russia —Land of Opportunity’ and Rosmolodezh’s programme ‘More Than a Trip,’ with support from the Russian Geographical Society. The expert council has approved the first 30 expeditions, with 12 universities and 18 organisations among the winners. These expeditions will take place from April to November 2025, covering 23 regions across the country.

MIEM HSE Establishes Telecommunications Research Institute
The institute will conduct fundamental and applied research in the development, analysis, and application of communication technologies with their subsequent commercialisation, as well as train development engineers for the telecom industry. Research Centre for Cognitive Health and Intelligence Opens at HSE University
The new research subdivision will focus on both the fundamental and applied aspects of human intelligence studies. The goal is not only to investigate the brain's cognitive mechanisms but also to devise strategies for enhancing and sustaining cognitive well-being. Led by prominent Russian and international scientists, the centre will pursue several research areas with main foci on intellectual functions and their operation under various conditions, the mechanisms of language communication, bilingualism and cognitive reserve, and the role of sensorimotor systems in cognitive processes.

‘Got Ideas? Come in!’: HSE Launches Centre for Transfer and Management of Socio-Economic Information
HSE University is completing the transformation of the Unified Archive of Economic and Social Data into the Centre for Transfer and Management of Socio-Economic Information. As part of this process, the HSE University Repository of Socio-Economic Information has already been launched.
