International Conference G20 Partnership for Growth and Jobs
An international pre-summit conference “G20 Partnership for Growth and Jobs” will be held at the Higher School of Economics on 29 August 2013. The conference discussions will focus on the Russian G20 Presidency priorities and the forthcoming St. Petersburg Summit`s agenda; current challenges the G20 members face and the recommendations for their solution.
The four sessions of the conference will be devoted to the most pressing issues G20 prioritize: managing monetary and fiscal policy for economic growth; financing investment and infrastructure; public debt management in the G20 countries; financial regulation reform. The G20 and OECD proposals on a new taxation system will be presented by Grace Perez-Navarro, Deputy Director of the Centre of Tax Policies and Administration, OECD. The conference will conclude by looking forward to the prospects and possibilities for the Brisbane Summit in 2014 and the following G20 summits.
The conference speakers include Ksenia Yudaeva, Russian G20 Sherpa, Vadim Lukov, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Russia’s sous-sherpa in G8, Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Coordinator for G20 and BRICS Affairs and Paul Myler, Australia’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation.
The international organisations will be represented by Zia Qureshi, Director of Strategy and Operations, Office of the Senior Vice President and Chief Economist, World Bank and Grace Perez-Navarro, Deputy Director of the Centre of Tax Policies and Administration, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. The representatives of the G20 outreach partners will participate in the conference – B20, Civil 20, YEA - Alexander Shokhin, B20 Russia Chairman, President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP), Mikhail Fedotov, Chairman of the Presidential Council of the Russian Federation for Civil Society Institutions and Human Rights and Victor Sedov, President, Centre for Entrepreneurship (Russia), Chairman, G20 Young Entrepreneurs' Alliance 2013 – 2014.

The conference is organised by the International Organizations Research Institute of the Higher School of Economics, the G20 Research Group of the University of Toronto with support of the Russian G20 Sherpa Office, the Australian Embassy in Moscow, Newsdesk Media, the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the Lowy Institute for International Policy, the Shanghai International Studies University and the Stanley Foundation.
